Overview:
The New York office of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP is seeking a Legal Recruiting Specialist to support the Legal Recruiting team primarily focusing on recruiting efforts including campus outreach, entry-level recruiting and the summer program. Willkie is an elite international law firm of approximately 1,200 lawyers located in 15 offices in six countries.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years’ experience in legal recruiting and/or campus outreach. The Specialist will primarily support entry-level recruiting team, playing a key role in the candidate experience from start to finish, as well as additional projects upon request.

Responsibilities:
Campus Outreach
- Help develop and maintain relationships with law schools, career services and student organizations.
- Coordinate on-campus recruitment events including career fairs, interviews and information sessions.
- Work with recruiting and marketing teams to develop materials to maintain the firm’s presence on campus.
- Track students as they move through the campus cycle.
Candidate Management - Oversee accuracy of applicant database (VI Desktop) for all entry-level and lateral associate hiring activity. Generate related hiring reports.
- Maintain candidate records in VI Desktop, including but not limited to search firm, unsolicited and on campus applicant
- During the recruiting season, be responsible for current status updates with all candidate details for hiring committee meetings.
- Assist in scheduling interviews as needed
- Aid with onboarding for new summer associates, entry-level law clerks and laterals.
Summer Program
- Assist with planning, organizing and executing the Firm’s summer associate program.
- Aid with orientation, training sessions and events.
- Serve as a point of contact for the summer associates, providing support throughout the program.
General Responsibilities
- Update recruiting files, monitor recruiting expenses and process expense reimbursements.
- Assist with part-time Recruiting Intern program and administrative support when required.
- Work closely with the Legal Personnel, HR and attorneys to ensure alignment on recruiting goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must be team-oriented, self-motivated and have the ability to work independently, as well as possess the following characteristics:
- Minimum of three years’ experience in Legal Recruiting and Campus Recruiting required.
- Event planning experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Must be able to exercise discretion, good business judgment, accountability, flexibility and maintain confidential information at all times.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with a service-oriented attitude.
- Ability to effectively communicate in a courteous and professional manner.
- Ability to juggle multiple assignments and adapt to changing priorities while maintaining composure.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Experience with Symplicity and VI Desktop, Flo Recruit and a plus.
ADA Requirements:
- Ability to sit at a desk most of the working day and walk short distances
- Needs manual dexterity, speed and accuracy in handling office equipment
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruption
- Ability to work in close proximity to other individuals
- Ability to carry light objects, e.g., files, small objects and supplies a short distance
- Must be able to lift, carry and move objects up to 15lbs.

The salary range for this role is $90,000 - $110,000 and represents the Firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications and location.
