Overview:
The Talent Department of Arnold & Porter has an opening for a Talent Data Analyst in our Washington, DC office. The Talent Data Analyst is responsible for analyzing, transforming, and visualizing Talent Department data to generate reports, dashboards, and actionable insights for firm leadership. This role involves translating complex data into meaningful visual narratives while utilizing scripting and machine learning tools to enhance analytics. The ideal candidate should have strong proficiency in Power BI, SQL, and Python to develop impactful dashboards and deliver data-driven insights.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $82,400 to $90,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Designing and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports to analyze key business metrics.
Collaborating with stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver insights.
Using Python for data analysis, automation, and advanced modeling.
Writing complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and optimization.
Integrating machine learning or learning tools to support predictive analytics.
Providing actional insights based on in-depth data analysis to inform strategic decisions and improve operational efficiency.
Developing automated reporting processes using Microsoft 365 office platforms.
Ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality.
Supporting decision-making processes by providing clear, actionable insights.
Developing and implementing predictive models to forecast trends.
Creating and maintaining documentation for data sources, methodologies, and processes used to create reports and visualizations.
Qualifications:
Qualifications:
Four-year college degree required, equivalent work experience considered.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in business intelligence and/or data analytic roles.
Law firm or professional services firm experience a plus.
Proficient in Power BI, DAX, and Power Query.
Expert-level SQL skills (joins, window functions, performing tuning).
Strong Python experience (pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, etc.)
Minimum of two years of hands-on experience in Microsoft Power BI (Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and Power BI Mobile) for data visualization and dashboarding.
Minimum of two years of experience with T-SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis.
Ability to produce clear and concise business documentation
Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements and processes into easily understandable visualizations.
Proficiency in data visualization best practices and design principles
Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and database management is a plus.
Knowledge of data related programming languages (Python, R, .NET platform, Boomi) and additional BI tools is a plus.
Experience with Azure Data Services / Azure Fabric is a plus
Experience with UKG is a plus
Experience with systems specific to the Legal Industry, such as Aderant Expert and Intapp Time are a plus
Proficiency in Windows operating systems and Microsoft M365 and/or related software.
Ability to leverage expertise in data visualization and analysis to transform complex datasets into actionable insights.
Ability to work independently, under time constraints, meet deadlines, and maintain flexibility with work assignments.
