This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of the top law firms in the U.S.! Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is looking for a Lawyer Recruiting Assistant to join our team in our Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, or Washington D.C. offices.

This position is responsible for providing professional support to the Lawyer Recruiting Managers with a particular focus on partner recruiting activity. We offer a hybrid work engagement with two days of remote work, and three days in-office.

Responsibilities:

On a typical day you will:
Lateral Attorney Hiring
  • Assist Lawyer Recruiting Managers with all aspects of lateral hiring and integration, with a particular emphasis on partner hiring
  • Prepare interview schedules, disseminate interview details to candidate/search firm, with support from Lawyer Recruiting Managers
  • Greet candidates, virtually or in person, and monitor interviews
  • Prepare offer letters and regret communications, as needed, with support from Lawyer Recruiting Managers
  • Prepare due diligence actions, including background checks, reference checks and conflicts communication
  • Assist managers with lateral attorney sourcing activities, including using LinkedIn and Leopard List
  • Update candidate activity in viRecruit and activity chart
  • Prepare hiring reports as needed
  • Engage and communicate with third-party recruiters regarding search agreements, proper candidate submission and candidate status
  • Assist with drafting new position openings, including posting and removing job descriptions from database and website
  • Conduct various market research, keeping up to date with legal trends and assisting with projects to enhance recruiting efforts
Attorney Onboarding and Integration
  • Work with firm management to provide integration support for lateral attorney hires
    • Prepare conflicts and intapp reports and hand-off to Practice Group Manager
Administrative Tasks
  • Assist with various administrative functions supporting the Lawyer Talent Acquisition team
  • Enter applicant information into viRecruit and maintain applicant database
  • Track data as needed for various reporting initiatives
  • Prepare check requests and reimbursements as needed for team
  • Process incoming mail and correspondence
  • Reserve conference rooms, order lunches and make restaurant reservations, as needed
  • Handle details for miscellaneous events or department functions, as needed
  • Track referral bonus activity
  • Assist with projects as they arise

Qualifications:

  • Prior administrative experience in law firm or other professional services setting is required, preferably in attorney recruiting
  • Understanding of the attorney recruiting life cycle
  • Demonstrated ability to be adaptive and agile.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and facilitate project plans to completion
  • Strong professional oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with various levels of employees and managers to ensure completion of tasks in a timely manner and meet deadlines
  • Proficient with Microsoft product suite and viRecruit
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Strong process analysis and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and quality control
  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple assignments including flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, service-oriented environment
  • Ability to maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality. Adhere to schedule by being timely on breaks, lunches and meetings

Washington State 

The annualized salary range for this position in Washington is $62,000 to $64,000 ($31.79 - $32.82 hourly). Actual pay will be adjusted based on the candidate’s education, training, experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.  Full time employees may be eligible for a bonus, health insurance with an optional HSA, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, telemedicine and virtual short term solution based counseling services, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, subsidized backup care and caregiving resources, 401(k), vacation, sick time, 11 paid holidays each year and an employee assistance program.  For full-time employees, the initial vacation benefit is 15 days per year and 11 days of sick leave per year, accrued bi-weekly. Additional voluntary programs include:  voluntary accident insurance, voluntary life, voluntary disability, voluntary long term care, and pet insurance.  Commuter and Transit programs are also available.

California

The annualized salary range for this position in Los Angeles is $64,000 to $68,000 ($32.82 - $34.87 hourly); and in San Francisco is $69,000 to $78,000 ($35.38 - $40.00 hourly. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.  Full time employees may be eligible for a bonus, health insurance with an optional HSA, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, telemedicine and virtual short term solution based counseling services, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, subsidized backup care and caregiving resources, 401(k), vacation, sick time, and an employee assistance program.  Additional voluntary programs include:  voluntary accident insurance, voluntary life, voluntary disability, voluntary long term care, and pet insurance.  Commuter and Transit programs are also available.

New York

The annualized salary range for this position in New York City is $62,000 to $68,000 ($34.07 - $37.36 hourly). Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.  Full time employees may be eligible for a bonus, health insurance with an optional HSA, short term disability, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, telemedicine and virtual short term solution based counseling services, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, subsidized backup care and caregiving resources, 401(k), vacation, sick time, and an employee assistance program.  Additional voluntary programs include:  voluntary accident insurance, voluntary life, voluntary disability, voluntary long term care, and pet insurance.  Commuter and Transit programs are also available.

District of Columbia

The annualized salary range for this position in Washington D.C. is $60,000 to $66,000 ($30.77 - $33.85 hourly). Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
