JOB DESCRIPTION

Under the direction of the Attorney Hiring Manager, the Senior Attorney Hiring Coordinator performs a variety of duties related to the planning and coordinating of the recruiting function for the New York office, including full-cycle associate and counsel recruiting efforts, the summer associate program, campus outreach and law school hiring. Primary responsibilities include lateral associate and counsel hiring, coordinating the New York Summer Associate Program, On-Campus Interviewing and event planning, callback interviews, and Hiring Committee processes.  Other duties include survey and data tracking, record-keeping, serving as a vendor liaison and supporting the Attorney Hiring Manager as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • With support of the Attorney Hiring Assistant, oversee on-campus recruiting process including registrations, screening resumes, on-campus events (planning and attending), preparing and sending offer letters, scheduling candidates and arranging in-office interviews.
  • Plan and execute the summer program in New York including booking events, managing RSVPs, sending out reminders to attorneys, planning and execution of orientation, trainings, and other in-office functions, gathering evaluations and budget tracking.
  • Coordinate 1L on-campus efforts including planning 1L events, overseeing 1L screening process, and corresponding with career services and student organizations.
  • Manage lateral associate and counsel hiring including creating search launch requests, interview scheduling, Leopard List searches, correspondence, candidate due diligence and critical record keeping.
  • Maintain the recruiting database and conduct data entry.
  • Serve as active member of New York office Diversity Committee.
  • Coordinate on-campus diversity initiatives such as panel presentations and receptions.
  • Support and initiate the firm’s pipeline recruiting efforts including collaboration with organizations and the office’s Diversity Committee.
  • Along with the Attorney Hiring Manager, oversee the Attorney Hiring Assistant’s workload.
  • Primary contact for our Vault relationship, including annual update of Vault page.
  • Assisting with London Associate and Counsel Hiring as needed.
  • Ability to work overtime during peak recruiting season required.
  • Assisting other firm departments as needed and time permitting.

Qualifications:

  • College degree required
  • Prior experience in law firm attorney recruiting is required
  • Strong organizational, clerical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Detail and team-oriented
  • Outstanding client service skills and willingness to accept direction from multiple team members in order to complete the overall goals of the department
  • Flexibility to shift responsibilities as necessary
  • Ability to work well under pressure in order to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to interact in a professional manner with attorneys, staff and outside personnel on all levels
  • People-focused with a high degree of superior customer service for both internal and external clients
  • Strong focus on repeatable, very high-quality results

Additional Information:

The salary range for this position in New York City is $75,000 – $95,000 and represents the firm’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will be dependent on various factors, including but not limited to, the candidate's experience, education, relevant certifications, geographic location, market demands, and specific business needs.
